Except for US wheat prices, the US grain and oilseed markets were a little quieter this week. USA winter wheat prices jumped by almost USD 15 m/t with spring wheat prices up by about USD 8 m/t. I guess that this week was a rally recovery week as everything moved lower – corn prices in the US dropped by USD 5 to 7 m/t, soybeans were down by at least USD 10 m/t and soymeal by USD 12 or so m/t. Even wheat prices moved lower with US winter wheat down by USD 8 to 11 m/t and spring wheat down by about USD 7 m/t. .........please click PDF to see more details

This was a very short work week in the US with some companies only working three days and those that did work tended to be on short staff. Most markets were quite thin as no one wanted to do anything before the holiday and are holding fire on any new business until next week when everyone is back to work. This was another week of most everything being higher in price --- only US wheat moved a little lower. Soybeans again were the strongest in the market with prices up by about USD 16 m/t while soymeal moved anywhere from USD 6 to 12 m/t higher. Corn prices didn’t really do anything too exciting this week and were only up by a maximum of about USD 3 m/t.
