The Ministry of Production (Produce) authorized the start of the First Fishing Season 2025 of the anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resources, for indirect human consumption, in the maritime area between the northernmost part of the Peruvian maritime domain and 16°00' S, starting at 00:00 hours on April 22, 2025.
This measure was made official through Ministerial Resolution No. 00148-2025-PRODUCE, which also establishes that the season will end when the authorized Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit for the North-Central Zone (LMTCP North-Centro) is reached, or, failing that, when the Peruvian Marine Institute (IMARPE) recommends it for environmental or biological reasons.
In this context, the regulation specifies that the North-Central LMTCP for anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resources, intended for indirect human consumption, corresponding to the First Fishing Season 2025, is 3,000,000 (three million) tons.
