Today’s Commentary:
The indicative pre-sale price for new season Peruvian Super Prime Fishmeal has increased by USD 150/MT to approximately USD 3,000/MT CNF.
Peruvian producers continue to hold firm on pricing and are largely refraining from actively offering quotations. In China, domestic fishmeal prices have also surged by around RMB 500/MT, with actual transaction prices subject to negotiation.
Market sentiment remains bullish, and fishmeal prices are expected to trend higher in the near term. However, the associated market risks are also escalating.
Regarding animal protein, PBM RMB prices have also been supported by the strength in fishmeal prices and have increased by approximately RMB 300/MT.
As for MBM, the recent outbreak of scrapie in Argentina has limited downward pressure on prices, making it difficult for the market to weaken.
Overall, both MBM & PBM prices are expected to remain firm in the near term. Market participants should continue to monitor downstream demand developments closely.
