Today’s Commentary:
The reference pre-sale price for Peru’s new-season Super prime Fishmeal is USD 3,100/MT CNF, up USD 100/MT.
In China, Fishmeal RMB market continues to strengthen, with China main ports inventories declining further. Concentrated holdings among suppliers, together with firm Peruvian export prices, have supported sentiment in the RMB market. In the short term, the fishmeal RMB market is expected to remain firm with a consolidative trend.
As for SBM inventories in China continue to accumulate, and supply remains ample, limiting the extent of any RMB price rebound after the recent period of bottom-range fluctuations.
The RMB price of U.S. poultry meal has not risen in proportion to the increase in fishmeal prices. Instead, its price trend has been largely constrained by domestic production’s poultry meal. Although domestic poultry meal generally has a slightly lower protein content than its U.S. counterpart, it offers advantages in terms of freshness and amino acid quality.
