Today’s Commentary:

Peruvian supply remains tight, with offers firm. In China, fishmeal inventories at major ports are expected to continue falling in the coming period.

Chinese domestic fishmeal production has also been below expectations. As for Rongcheng (Shandong province), a major production base for domestic fishmeal, the indicative price with 63% protein and TVN 150 is at about RMB 17,800/ton which is very competitive comparison with Imported ones.  The widening price gap between imported and domestically produced fishmeal has led to a clear divergence in China.

Regarding Argentina Scrapie disease outbreak has affected MBM & other related animal products exporting to China. SENASA is pushing for a "regionalized" agreement (restricting only the affected provinces of Santa Fe and Entre Ríos), but the GACC historically favors strict country-wide requirements for high-risk animal proteins.
