Hammersmith Weekly Feed Grain and Protein Report Wk#14

This week was USDA-WASDE week, but the trade seemed to feel that there were not too many surprises hidden in the report.
The WASDE showed a small increase in corn stocks but overall, there was not much in the way of new and startling corn information reported. There was no strong market reaction to the report – corn prices didn’t do anything much.......please click PDF to see more details.

Hammersmith Weekly Feed Grain and Protein Report Wk#13

This week was a down week for prices for most every grain, oilseed and protein meal. Corn prices dropped in the US by USD 5 to 6 m/t with soybeans falling by USD 9 to 11 m/t and soymeal down by USD 16 to 20 m/t. Wheat too was lower with winter wheat down by USD 5 m/t or so and US spring wheat also down by about USD 5 m/t........please click PDF to see more details

It was an interesting week for US futures prices: corn prices dropped by USD 7 to 9 m/t while nearby soybeans were up by about USD 5 m/t and nearby soymeal up by as much as USD 26 m/t. It was a down week for most everything this week – some say it is just a short term coronavirus reaction. US corn prices were down by about USD 4 m/t while soybean did much worse dropping close to USD 15 m/t and soymeal down by USD 7 to 10 m/t. All wheat was also lower – from USD 4 to 7 m/t.

Corn prices moved up by about USD 4 m/t this week while soybeans/soymeal prices were steady and US winter wheat prices slipped about USD 3 m/t lower.

This week is a long weekend in the US with everyone closed on Monday for Veteran’s day. On the week, corn prices were a little softer – down a couple of dollars m/t – while soybeans moved higher by about USD 3 m/t. All the wheat prices slid lower this week with US soft red winter wheat down by close to USD 6 mt while hard red winter wheat dropped by only about USD 2 m/t and spring wheat was down by close to USD 4 m/t.........please click PDF to see more details

There weren’t any major changes in US grain and oilseed prices this week – corn prices were about unchanged although the export price did slip a little lower.
