This week’s report is a little shorter than normal due to the holidays in the US – both Thursday and Friday for many organizations and reporting services – updated information is minimal from the US this week. But then, on a holiday week not too much seems to happen...........please click PDF to see more details

The USA has their Thanksgiving holiday later in the week, so the coming week will probably be a quiet week. For last week there wasn’t a great deal of market excitement – only a great many people talking about and guessing about the US/China trade situation.
The soybean market did have some rallies and drops this week as rumors and speculation regarding China kept changing – rallies were on trade settlement rumors then dips.......please click PDF to see more details

The USDA WASDE (World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates) report did hold a few surprises this week: increased China corn stocks, lower US corn yields, lower US soybean yields, higher world ending stocks for all corn, soybeans and wheat.
From a US futures point of view there was no change in corn or soybean prices on the week while.....please click PDF to see more details

Soybeans and soymeal had an up week this week on some feelings that the US and China could reach some agreement on the trade situation. However, by the end of the week the chance of a solution seemed to have moved a little further away which could result in soybean/meal prices moving lower again next week..........please click PDF to see more details

Sorry that I am a day late with this week’s report. I didn’t get back from the European Commodity Exchange event until late Saturday – and the with a devil of a cold. It was much colder in Rouen than I had expected – that is what happens when you live in the warmer south of France.
Other than a little rally in wheat prices on Friday, we had a down week for almost everything, except corn. Corn ended up unchanged on the week while US soybeans were down by about USD 5 m/t and soymeal down by about the same....................please click PDF to see more details

This coming week is the European Grain Bourse in Rouen, France – there should be at least 2,500 grain people wandering around the conference center, hoping to make new contacts or meet old friends. I will be there on behalf of the US Grains Council, so keep an eye out for me........please click PDF to see more details

This week was the USDA-WASDE week and, as usual, the report was able to surprise a number of experts. The report did lower estimated corn yields and thus total corn production while reducing soybean production due to smaller planting.
However, we are still looking at a record soybean crop and the second largest corn crop so there should be enough supply to go around......please click PDF to see more details.

This week was an up week for all US grains/oilseeds/meals with corn prices moving up by about USD 5 to 6 m/t, soybeans up by USD 8 to 10 m/t, soymeal up by USD 10 m/t and even wheat prices were able to rally by about USD 5 m/t..........please click PDF to see more details

Price wise, things were not all that exciting this week – except perhaps for wheat prices. Corn, soybeans and soymeal shower very little change on the week while wheat prices did drop between USD 4 to 6 m/t.
The USDA stocks report was out this week and was a little bearish for corn as stocks were higher than expected by the trade. Some experts say that this is due to lower feed use for corn in the summer months........please click PDF to see more details

The always surprising WASDE report was surprising once again – certainly more bearish than many experts thought that it would be. Corn prices finished the week down by about USD 6 m/t while soybeans faired a little better dropping by just USD 5 m/t and soymeal slipped by USD 8 to 10 m/t. All in all, wheat prices didn’t change at all........please click PDF to see more details
