Second Anchovy Fishing Season begins November 16

From 00 hours on Saturday, November 16, the second anchovy industrial fishing season of 2019 will begin in the north-central area of ​​Peru.


This was established by the Ministry of Production (Produce), through Ministerial Resolution 483-2019, which defines the quota for extracting the precious resource at 2 million 786 thousand tons.
 

The deadline for extraction will culminate once the maximum authorized permissible catch limit has been reached, or failing that, when recommended by the Institute of the Sea of ​​Peru (Imarpe).

Anchovy stock evaluated to start second fishing season 2019

The Institute of the Sea of Peru (Imarpe) evaluates the anchovy stock in order to determine the start of the second fishing season 2019 in the north-central area, said the Ministry of Production.

He also said that this evaluation began on September 29 with the acoustic evaluation cruise, and will last 46 days until November 14.

The first anchovy fishing season ends 31 July

The Ministry of Production (Produce) concluded the First Fishing Season 2019 of anchovy and white anchovy in the North-Central Zone.

The measure is effective from 00:00 on July 31, 2019, and was published via Ministerial Resolution No. 329-2019-PRODUCE in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The text details that in this season 2.01 million tons of anchovy were captured, a figure that represents 95.87% of the maximum maximum allowable catch limit.
