Peru Results: defined the maximum quota of deep-sea Cod

The Ministry of production (produce) established in 160 tonnes the maximum share of the resource of Allowable Catch toothfish for 2017. This quota may be modified according to the Biological and / or environmental conditions, Prior Report of the Marine Institute of Peru (IMARPE).
 
The produces close Cod Fishing depth when it reaches the quota, or its Execution may not exceed December 31, 2017.

Produce ends second season of anchovy fishing in north-center zone

09:23.Lima, Jan. 25. The Ministry of Production (Produce) decided that the January 27 end of the second fishing season 2016 anchovy and longnose anchovy in the area between the northern end of Peru's maritime domain and 16o00'S.

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 046-2017-Produce, published today in the Official Gazette El Peruano, it is established as the maximum term for the download of anchovy extracted during the second season at 8:00 am on the second business day counted from The day after the resolution was published.

Anchovy regulation comes early

The Ministry of Production (Produce) has ordered the preventive closure of eight fishing areas in the north of Peru, as a way to control anchovy consumption.

Produce, through its General Supervision and Inspection Division, determined the preventive closure of eight protected marine fishing areas, located in oceans in front of the cities of Chiclayo, Trujillo, Coishco, Chimbote, Samanco, Casma, Huarmey and Huacho.

The Ministry reported that between November 11 and 20, 2016, a total of 587 fishing vessels caught a total of 178,969 tons of anchovy.

Opening of the second Fishing Season in the North-Center region to start November 15th, 2016

By R.M Nº 440-2016-PRODUCE, dated November 8th, the Ministry of Production resolved to :  Authorize the opening of the second fishing season of the resource anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) for indirect human consumption in the North-Center region

Peruvian Fishmeal Prices Stabilize as Producers Await New Anchovy Quota

Peru's fishmeal prices have stabilized at levels seen back in January , while producers await for the first 2016 anchovy quota, expected to be known by May.

Fishmeal prices are now at the range of $1,720-1,770 per metric to,n FOB Peru, for super prime, similar to the price seen in January, which was followed by a price drop of up to $1,600/t in February.

Prices have recovered to January levels on the back of expected higher Chinese demand from June -- when shrimp production resumes in the Asian country.
