US Grains & BioProducts Council -- USGBC
A U.S. sorghum crop forecasted at 9.9 million metric tons is currently being harvested creating a tremendous buying opportunity for feed grain buyers around the world. Currently, U.S. sorghum is priced at $193.69/MT FOB Texas Gulf, whereas U.S. corn was priced at $201.96/MT FOB NOLA. That’s a discount of $8.27/MT. (https://grains.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/08282025MP.pdf).
A buyer who buys a 35,000 MT vessel of U.S. sorghum is saving $289,450 per vessel at these prices.
Some advantages of U.S. sorghum include:
It is low in tannins
Comparable feed value: Sorghum delivers nearly the same energy as corn for poultry, swine, and cattle, with slightly higher fiber and lower fat.
Non-GMO
