Peru Anchovy Fishing Season B Authorized

Produce authorized the next start of the second anchovy fishing season. Maximum catch limit will be 2,047 million MT, a lower quota than the first season.
 
Through a resolution in an extraordinary edition issued today, the Ministry of Production (Produce) authorized the next start of the second anchovy fishing season in the north-central area of ​​the coast, between the extreme north of the maritime domain of Peru. and 16 ° 00′LS.

Produces a fixed quota of 2.5 million tons for anchovy fishing in the north-central zone

The Ministry of Production ( Produce ) established a quota of 2.5 million tons for the fishing of anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) for indirect human consumption to be carried out in the north-central zone.

According to Ministerial Resolution N 120-2021-PRODUCE, the measure comes into effect as of today with the execution of an exploratory fishing that will last up to a maximum period of 10 days.

The second season of anchovy fishing end

From this Monday, January 25, the Ministry of Production(Produce) has concluded the second fishing season for anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus), in the North-Central Zone, for Indirect Human Consumption (CHI), for be in the reproductive process of spawning.
 
Ministerial Resolution No. 00025-2021-PRODUCE includes the recommendations of the Peruvian Sea Institute (Imarpe) and focuses from the extreme north of the maritime domain and 16 ° 00′LS.

First anchovy fishing season will conclude on August 15

The Ministry of Production (Produce) announced that at 00:00 on August 15, the First Fishing Season 2020 of the anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resource corresponding to the North - Central Zone will conclude.

 

According to Ministerial Resolution 263-2020-PRODUCE published in the El Peruano newspaper, the discharge of the anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resources must be carried out within 24 hours after the end of the season.

Produce authorizes the start of the 1st anchovy fishing season in the southern part

The Ministry of Production (Produce) authorized the start of the first anchovy and white anchovy fishing season for the period August - December 2020 in the southern part of the country.
 
According to Ministerial Resolution No. 249-2020-PRODUCE, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette El Peruano, the season will take place in the maritime area between 16º00′LS and the extreme south of Peru's maritime domain.

First season of anchovy fishing will start from May 13

The Ministry of Production authorized the start of the first anchovy fishing season on May 13 in the north-central zone of Peru, as part of the resumption of activities after the state of emergency due to the coronavirus (Covid-19).

According to Ministerial Resolution No. 147-2020-PRODUCE, the maximum catch limit established by the sector for this season has been set at 2.413 million tons.

Covid-19 Emergency State

Produce: fishing for direct human consumption grew more than 11% during 2019

The Ministry of Production (Produce) reported that during 2019 the fishing destined for direct human consumption had a positive balance when registering a growth of 11.8% compared to the previous year. This happened because the landing volume closed at 1.3 million metric tons.

 

This result, it was reported, represents the highest after four years and responds mainly to the greater landing of resources destined for the frozen and canned industry.
